5 Ways iPaaS Supports Your Data Integration Strategy

Updated on November 21st. 2022

We have previously given you tips for developing a future-ready data integration strategy. If you missed this blog, be sure to click on the link and read it. A few months back we mentioned if you don’t have a strategy yet, you better start working on it. If it’s still under development or you are just about to start, this post will be helpful for you.

In this article, we will rather focus on how iPaaS can be the key pillar of your data integration strategy. Let’s see the 5 ways that can make a difference in your digitization implementation.

1. Moving toward the cloud

Are you having a fear of adopting the cloud? Keep reading! Many of our customers had major concerns and security requirements before we started to work with them. It’s completely understandable. The main concerns were obviously the following:

  • They were using legacy on-premise technologies that are working well; however, those are rather inflexible and complex data sharing, but the investment has been made and suddenly switching to the cloud is not an option.
  • They were concerned about the security of the business-critical information that they would be sharing there.
  • It could be pricy to adapt to cloud solutions – after all SaaS products have taught everyone that you tend to pay for anything from purchasing the software through maintenance to updates.

So, after so many concerns, how did they end up using a cloud-based integration platform as the cornerstone of their integration strategy?

On-premise legacy technology

Basically, iPaaS can connect any system, whether it is on-premise or in the cloud. This makes the whole process much more agile and enhances the flexibility of the existing technologies. It enables data sharing in real-time with numerous partners and that’s a big advantage.

Security of transferring data in the cloud

Transferring data with our platform built on Microsoft Azure is completely secure. Also, we do not have ownership of the data, therefore clients don’t need to worry about losing authority over their data. iPaaS is a good solution even when there are internal or governmental policies for not storing data in the cloud.

Reasonable pricing

Integrating within the cloud is a lot more affordable than traditional solutions. One reason for this is that developing the solutions is a lot faster. The other one is that the customer does not need to pay for the newly available features of the platform, hance there are no yearly update fees.

2. Connectivity management

You can’t neglect to connect with all your partners and it has to be an important part of your strategy.

In smaller integration cases, where the needs for connections are under three, hand-coding can be an option. However, the maintenance of these solutions is still difficult and if you break one, you may break the other two as well.

EAIs and SOAs are good tools for managing connectivity. However, the development and deployment is slow, and the price is a lot higher than when the connections are built on top of a cloud platform.

The biggest advantage of using iPaaS is that we can manage and maintain hundreds of connectivity for you. Single connectivity can be developed in just under days and after end-to-end testing, it can be deployed into production.

3. Scalable solution

One of the best things about iPaaS is that it allows us to scale the solution as your needs are changing.

Let me explain it in a bit more detail There could be a few scenarios.

a) Your integration needs are growing.

In this scenario, in the beginning, you may only have a few connections; however, in the future,, you might need more. Or if you don’t need more connections, maybe the amount of information that is moving through the connections is going to grow rapidly.

In this case, we will scale the solution to meet your needs. If you worry about the effect of the increasing data on the cost: the more data you transfer through us, the more the unit cost of the messages will decrease.

b) You want to start out small.

This is some suggest especially when someone is reaching out to us and they are not sure how suitable our solutions are for them.

Let’s say that you just want to try how it’s working. The best is to try it with a couple of connections and see how the project is moving forward. Many of our customers took baby steps before they started investing in hundreds of connections and millions of message transfers daily.

The scalability of the platform makes it so great for any organization of any size. Whether you need 5 connections or 200, this can be the right solution. What’s really cool about it is that now even small companies can connect with their partners and gain efficiency by automating their business-to-business information sharing. Also, large corporations have been saving up to 70% on their integration costs – and you guessed right, that’s a big chunk of money.

4. Data management and data integrity

There’s a lot of discussion around data management and data integrity – but probably not as much as around big data.

We are constantly talking about how valuable data is and how the amount of data that companies create is emerging. However, data needs to be properly managed.

An important part of it is transferring data to your value chain in their preferred format and ensuring that you also get back the information in a way that’s the most convenient for you. This can be automatically done during the data transfer when you do the transfer through our platform.

Another important factor is that the data needs to be clean, therefore we validate it for you and forward it back to the sender for enrichment.

These small things can save you more time (and consequently money) than you would ever think.

5. Managed Service

Needless to say, many likes that they don’t have to deal with the integrations themselves. As we mentioned, coding shouldn’t be an option, especially when your solutions start to become more complex.

Our experienced integration architects will do the work for you and work in close cooperation with your IT team. For example, your team may need to create FTP/SFTP servers to help us and participate in the testing, but mostly creating the data integrations is hassle-free for them.

The solution also comes with support. Our team answers your questions and maintains your solutions per your request.

iPaaS is for endless possibilities

The list could be continued and could be a lot more technical, of course. However, now you may have found a few ideas for your data integration strategy and you can move forward with finding the best solution for your company.

There are a lot of different possibilities with iPaaS in terms of how you can use it – if you are not sure, we can help you identify these possibilities.
